Who will have the worst record in baseball in 2004?

Detroit Tigers — Can they repeat their Mets quest or will off-season pickups Ivan Rodriguez, Estaban Yan, and Fernando Vina dig them out of the cellar?

Cleveland Indians — Milton Bradley isn't playing games. Omar Vizquel is aging faster than Minnie Minoso. Ron Belliard was their big free agent acqusition.

Cincinnati Reds — Who had John Vander Wal as the first Cincy OF to be out for the season? Can Junior, Dunn, and Kearns be far behind?

Colorado Rockies — Larry Walker is resembling Dean Palmer. And Vinny Castilla back — clear the steakhouse by Coors now!

Arizona Diamondbacks — The only team older than its fans... Could the rotation of Randy Johnson, Steve Sparks (38), Shane Reynolds (36), and Reds castoff Elmer Dessens (33) be the most overpaid in baseball?

Tampa Bay Devil Rays — They've never made a move on 4th place in the AL East in their history, why start now?

Texas Rangers — A-Rod's albatross contract is gone, but Soriano's albatross fielding will sink the Rangers' awful rotation.

Montreal Expos — Ordered to lose by Bud Selig. Vlad's gone. Vazquez is gone. The fans... gone since the 1994 strike. Can wins be far behind?

Milwaukee Brewers — Also ordered to lose by Bud Selig. Traded away the franchise player for a new infield, while cutting 40-man payroll to about 1/3 of the average baseball salary.

Pittsburgh Pirates — Completing the round-robin of shame in the NL Central, the Pirates have traded anyone with a modicum of talent and sign everyone's castoffs to minor league deals. The Nashville AAA team will be better.

New York Mets — When you break camp with two 38 year-old lefties as your #1 and #2 and a 43 year-old in your bullpen... you could have more question marks than wins.

Kansas City Royals — Was last year smoke and mirrors? Will everyone be on the DL? Will Carlos Beltran be elsewhere come the All-Star break?

None of the above — Someone's bound to explode to the bottom. Perhaps Baltimore, Toronto, or maybe the White Sox, Padres, or Dodgers.
