By Adam Conn, Founder Current 2006 NFL Draft Order Teams in bold are still in the playoffs. Super Bowl participants will draft #31 and #32, regardless of record. There will be some shifting of the playoff teams as well, based on finish. Although Denver would be listed as the 31st pick overall if listed by strength of schedule, Seattle is listed as #31 for now because they have the best record in the NFC. However, with Indianapolis eliminated, Indianapolis will have the 30th pick overall. Denver, if defeated by Pittsburgh, will receive the 29th pick overall. Seattle will move to 28th if the Super Bowl is Pittsburgh vs Carolina. Oakland and San Francisco finished the season with identical records and strength of schedule; Oakland won the coin flip and will draft 6th overall. New England and Washington were eliminated in the same round, they remain at 21 & 22 respectively (although Denver receives Washington's #1 pick). The Bucs, Bengals, and Giants, by virtue of being eliminated in the first round, moves up to #23, #24, and #25. The Bears fall back a slot to #26 despite not winning a post-season game. Jacksonville can only advance from the #29 spot if Pittsburgh and/or Carolina advance to the Super Bowl. New England picked up three 2006 picks in trades last year; Philadelphia added two but traded away one to Dallas. Denver received two picks from Washington. Houston picked up an additional pick as well, and will get to go back-to-back in round three.
New Orleans traded its third round pick to Houston. Baltimore traded its third round pick to New England. Detroit traded its fourth round pick to New England. Indianapolis traded its fourth round pick to Philadelphia. Dallas traded its fourth round pick to Philadelphia. Oakland traded its fifth round pick to New England. Philadelphia traded its sixth round pick to Dallas. File last modified January 15, 2006 |
